About MSYPN
The
MS Young Professionals Network (MSYPN) was the
brainchild of Sean McNicholas, a young entrepreneur, and
Karen Wenzel, executive director of the Rocky Mountain
MS Center. In 2004, the two set out to form a group that
would engage 20- and 30-something young professionals in
the activities of the MS Center through volunteering,
fundraising and education. The group first convened at a
barbecue in August 2004 and included 75 interested
individuals. Today, the network reaches more than 400
young professionals and is led by a Board of 15 people.
Message from the Founder, “Passion is something we
all have in us. Passion is what drove a handful of young
professionals to create the Multiple Sclerosis Young
Professional Network, MSYPN. We did so for three primary
reasons. First, there are some amazing individuals that
care for the wellbeing of others and want to contribute
to the support of a cause. Second, these individuals are
also looking to expand their networks, friendships, and
careers with similar like-minded visionary people.
Third, these individuals become passionate about
Multiple Sclerosis and FORM the Young Professional
branch for fundraising, awareness and education.
Importantly, they also become leaders for the future of
the Rocky Mountain MS Center.”
~ Sean McNicholas
Throughout the year, MSYPN members and their friends
meet at networking happy hours, as well as several
special fundraising events. From Drag Queen Bingo to
Adult Field Day to the more formal Wine Tasting, the
events have been extremely successful in both
fundraising and education.
The MSYPN mission is to provide an opportunity for young
professionals to support the work of the Rocky Mountain
MS Center and raise awareness of the prevalence of
multiple sclerosis (MS) in Colorado through networking,
fundraising and volunteer events. To learn more about
joining MSYPN or attending an event, call 303-788-4030 x

The mission of the Rocky Mountain MS Center is to
improve the lives of people with MS and their families
through care, support, education and research.
